theorizing music-architecture
Other than architecture, my other interest is music. Throughout the six years of study for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architecture, along with a undergraduate Minor in Music, I have always been deeply fascinated by the possibility of connecting these two distinct discipline. To me, the affect of music and that of architecture have a strong similarity. It was one that I initially felt powerless to describe, but throughout my academic career I have increasingly gained the language and the method to theorize this vague and indescribable relationship.
I ended up devoting two of my architectural studio projects to this study, each of which accompanied by a separated paper. Currently I am still at the stage of surveying this possible relationship between the two forms of (if you will) art. My intention is to eventually come up with a coherent theory of this issue.
Below are my papers:
Musical Form; Architectural Sound

Music and Architecture: Revisited
